1. What we collect
We collect only what we need to quote, provide and invoice our freight, customs, transport, storage and fulfilment services. This may include:
- names, job titles, phone numbers, email and postal addresses of customers, consignees and their staff;
- business details such as company name, ABN and billing information;
- shipment details such as pickup and delivery addresses, cargo descriptions, weights, dimensions and commercial documents;
- information Australian or overseas authorities require for customs and biosecurity clearance, which for personal effects may include identity documents;
- credit application and payment details for account customers; and
- records of your enquiries, quote requests, emails and calls.
2. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a quote request or contact form on our website, email or call us, book a shipment, or apply for credit. We may also receive it from your suppliers, consignees, carriers, overseas agents and government authorities involved in your shipment. Our website may use cookies and analytics tools that collect technical information such as your browser type and pages visited.
3. Why we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes;
- arrange, track and deliver shipments, arrange customs clearance through licensed customs brokers, and provide storage and fulfilment services;
- meet our legal obligations, including under customs, biosecurity, tax and transport laws;
- invoice, collect payment and assess credit applications;
- manage claims and disputes; and
- tell you about our services, unless you ask us not to.
4. Who we disclose it to
To provide our services we may disclose personal information to carriers, shipping lines, airlines, transport companies, warehouses, overseas freight agents, insurers, our IT and payment service providers, our professional advisers, and government authorities such as the Australian Border Force and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. We do not sell personal information.
5. Overseas disclosure
International freight involves sharing shipment information with agents, carriers and authorities in the countries goods are shipped from, to or through. Depending on the shipment, this may include countries in Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Pacific. Some of our IT services may also store information outside Australia.
6. Storage and security
We store personal information in electronic systems and paper files and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. We keep records for as long as needed for our services and as required by law, then securely destroy or de-identify them.
7. Access and correction
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will explain why.
8. Marketing
We may send you information about our services. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.
